ANGEL TREE

The Missions committee is looking for a family or small group of folks to coordinate the Angel Tree Project for this Christmas. We would like this tradition of giving back to our local community to continue, but we need a sponsor(s).

CLOTHES CLOSET

Year round Orange Park Presbyterian Church collects food and clothing which is distributed to families in need through the Clothes Closet. A food drive is held in the Spring and Fall, in addition to a collection at Christmas. Contact Ed & Joan Poole, 904-264-5896 or edward35@bellsouth.net.

HELPING HANDS

OPPC’s Helping Hand Fund gets 100% of its funding from special donations earmarked for this purpose. Through these funds we’re able to reach out to people in crisis, helping them meet urgent needs like rent, food, water, electricity and gas.

OPPC PRESCHOOL

OPPC Preschool is an outreach mission of the Orange Park Presbyterian Church that began in 1989 with two teachers and five children. Today the Preschool has 10 classes with an enrollment of 120 children, 1 to 5 years of age. OPPC Preschool provides a decidedly Christian environment where each child has the opportunity to learn of God’s grace and love through stories, music, art, prayer and interactions with others. The curriculum is designed to help each child develop intellectually, emotionally, physically, socially and spiritually. Each child has many opportunities to learn new skills, reinforce previously learned skills, enrichment of ideas and the development of responsibility for themselves and others. There are many ways to become involved in the Preschool:

SALVATION ARMY BELLRINGING

Volunteers bring to life a Christmas tradition of ringing bells at a Salvation Army collection kettle throughout the holiday season. People from all over the community and OPPC help fill 2-hour slots at the Winn-Dixie on Highway 17 and the Publix on 220 to raise money for Salvation Army’s programs and services. They start looking for Volunteers to help out in early November.

STEWARDSHIP/ENDOWMENTS

Stewardship is about the joy that comes from generous giving and the responsibility that each Christian has to give back some measure of the gifts that God has given. Endowment provides long-term support for our missions and ministries. We need two to three new people for both the Stewardship and Endowment Committees.
